Born in Geneva, Dr. Tabibian completed his medical studies at the University of Geneva and then began his training as an ophthalmologist at the University Hospital of Geneva. He continued his training in the United Kingdom through clinical and surgical activities and then through a Cornea and External Eye Disease Fellowship with Prof Figueiredo in Newcastle. Back in Switzerland, Dr Tabibian became Chief of Clinic at the Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital, Fondation Asile des Aveugles in Lausanne and then continued his academic career in the Unit of Cornea and Refractive Surgery.
In parallel, Dr. Tabibian has maintained a research activity with a particular interest in cornea and keratoconus. He is the author of 26 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and two book chapters on these subjects. Since 2020, he is in private practice in Geneva with a clinical and surgical activity focused on cornea, cataract and refractive surgery and continues to exercise an academic activity part-time in the unit of Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the Jules-Gonin Eye Hospital in Lausanne.
