Born in Geneva, Dr Tabibian completed his medical studies at the University of Geneva and then began his training as an ophthalmologist at the University Hospitals of Geneva. He continued this in the United Kingdom through clinical and surgical activity and then by completing a Cornea and External Eye Disease Fellowship with Prof Figueiredo in Newcastle. Back in Switzerland, Dr Tabibian became head of clinic at the Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital, Fondation Asile des Aveugles in Lausanne and then continued his academic career there within the Cornea and Refractive Surgery Unit.
At the same time, Dr Tabibian maintained a research activity with a particular interest in the cornea and keratoconus. He is the author of 26 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and two book chapters on these topics. Since 2020, he has been based in private practice in Geneva with clinical and surgical activity focused on the cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery. He continues to exercise part-time academic activity within the Cornea and Refractive Surgery unit of the Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic hospital in Lausanne.
